In the previous article, we talked about the stainless steel tube blank being cut into two into two cups. As stainless steel water cups have different shapes and structures, we will only describe the relatively simple process of making water cup bodies.
The next step is to shrink the cup. In accordance with the design requirements and the structural requirements of the cup lid, engineers use processing equipment to perform a necking process on the divided cup body, which is also called a cup necking process.
After the necking is completed, in order to ensure the perfect fit of the inner and outer two-layer stainless steel cups, and to meet the production requirements, the cups must be cut and bottomed. The machine pushes the bottom of the cup to cut the whole circle to ensure a neat mouth. After the cup is cut, the irregular parts are removed, and the excess burrs are removed to start the thread rolling process. The thread that appears on the cup is the thread that we touch when we tighten the lid every day.
The thread rolling process has high requirements for materials and welding processes. Unqualified steel, thin welding, and high pressure from thread rolling machines can easily cause cracks in the mouth of the stainless steel cup.
After the thread is rolled, the naked eye cannot see whether the cup is cracked or the solder joints are open, so special equipment and materials need to be used to detect the cup. Once the inspection is carelessly missed, the unqualified semi-finished products of the cup will directly cause the subsequent supply and demand products to be defective, resulting in unqualified finished products. After thread rolling, the cup mouth still needs to be cut again, and some are called cup mouth shaping treatment, the purpose is to ensure that the cup mouth is neat and smooth.
